LSU quarterback Anthony Jennings is transferring after the school granted his request, according to head coach Les Miles.

Jennings was beat out by Brandon Harris last year for the starting job.

In three seasons with the Tigers, the Georgia native played in 24 games, starting 13, including all but one game in 2014.

"Anthony did a lot of really good things for our program," Miles said in a University press release. "As a freshman, he came in for an injured Zach Mettenberger and led us to a last-minute win over Arkansas and then he helped us to eight wins the following year as a sophomore.

"This is an opportunity for Anthony to put himself in a position to help another team have success. We wish him nothing but good fortune in the future and we appreciate all that he did while he was part of our program."

Jennings is on course to graduate this summer, and has one year left of eligibility. It is unknown at this time where he will transfer.

With Jennings gone, LSU's scholarship quarterbacks are Harris, redshirt freshman Justin McMillan, incoming freshmen Lindsey Scott, and Danny Etling, a junior transfer.
