The owner of Bowtie Barbershop in Placerville, California, has apologized after a photo surfaced on social media of a Colin Kaepernick doll he's had hanging from a noose in his shop since 2016.

The owner apologized while defending his actions, saying, "I literally had no idea that I was offending people. We have a hangman out here called George and so, you know, with the theme of hangtown, I hung him."

After taking down the doll, the owner reiterated, "I'm publicly announcing that I apologize. It was the wrong thing for me to do."
