Mary J. Blige Joins Sam Smith For ‘Stay With Me’ Remix – Tha Wire
Sam Smith may have made a fan out of Mary J. Blige, but the truth is, he’s been a fan of hers since he was a child. The two recently joined forces to record the remix of Smith’s hit single, ‘Stay With Me.’ Peep the video below.
The original version was released in March and can be found on the singer’s debut album, “In The Lonely Hour” in stores June 17th. By the way, this isn’t the first time that British superstar hooked-up with Mary J. The two were special guest performers at New York’s Terminal 5 concert series in January.
Meanwhile, Sam Smith said his recent collaboration with Mary J Blige is one of his biggest highlights in his life thus far. Smith revealed, “I remember holding her album in my hands in the car when I was a young boy, to meet your idols is a magical thing, but to work with them is truly a dream come true.”

Mary had some kind words for the singer as well. The Queen of Hip Hop/Soul said, “I’m so honored to have had the chance to work with Sam Smith. Sam’s true soulful voice… is the first of this kind I have heard since Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson and all the great soulful male voices from the ‘80s. I’m completely blown away by his talent, soul and the sincerity.”
