Mary J.'s Soon To Be Ex, Kendu Isaacs Files Spousal Support

Today in Tha Wire looks like reports of Mary J. Blige’s soon to be ex-husband wanting spousal support are true. Beings this is going to boil down to money, this may get nasty unfortunately. TMZ reports the singer initially filed for divorce earlier this year, putting an end to the couples 12-year marriage. The Queen of Hip Hop Soul cited irreconcilable differences, however it's been rumored for a while that Kendu Isaacs stepped out on Mary to have an affair with Karrine Steffans.

That claim hasn't been backed up with anything concrete, it's merely rumor for now. But BET caught-up to Steffans recently and put the question to the former vixen. This is what she had to say, "I have known Kendu for 10 years, through mutual business associates and friends. I consider him a friend, yes. Not a close friend, but a friend nonetheless." Was that a no? If so, why didn't she just say that?

Anyway Kendu responded to Mary's petition for divorce this week and apparently he's determined not to leave empty handed. Isaac's is actually asking for spousal support, and wants Mary to foot the legal fees as well. TMZ reports the two listed their separation differently, with Isassc saying they parted July 25 and Mary reporting their split "to be determined." The R&B songbird also requested that spousal support be blocked at that time.

It's unclear as to whether or not Mary had a prenup. The two have been married since 2003 and have no children together. Keep you posted on this one fam.
