Master P is one of the many artists who paid tribute to the late Prince with a song. The New Orleans rapper dropped a record with his No Limit crew called "RIP Prince" to show his love. TMZ caught up with Master P to let him know they were digging the track, which led to P to voice his frustration over it taking Prince's death to celebrate the legendary artist.

"A lot of people called Prince weirdo and all that other stuff even though he's one of the greatest entertainers in the world," Master P said. "But it took him to die for everybody to talk about how great he is."

When asked if Prince's death has resulted in a lot of fake fans coming out of the woodwork, Master P said that is true. He compared it to how people reacted after Michael Jackson died.

"I think there's a lot of genuine stuff but I also think people, once somebody's gone, then everybody... You know it's like Michael Jackson," Master P explained. "Everybody talked about how great he was. I know Prince probably up there playing music with Michael Jackson right now."

Master P criticized people who don't keep it real. The No Limit boss claimed that folks who say bad things will be the same ones that glorify you in death.

"A lot of people don't keep it real and say the truth," Master P said. "A lot of 'em will say stuff like... They'll say all the bad stuff about you. They'll make up all kinds of rumors, lies. They'll make all kinds of jokes. There's a lot of Prince parroters."
