Lake Charles mayor, Nic Hunter, is teaming up with Holiday Helping Hands for a Christmas Toy Drive this Friday, December 1, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Home Furniture, located at 1314 Ryan Street, according to a City of Lake Charles media release. Their mission is "to bring Christmas to local children in need."

“There’s nothing more worthwhile than helping brighten the holidays for kids who need some cheer this time of year,” said Mayor Hunter. “Our community is a very generous one, and I want to ask residents for their help collecting toys, books and games for families in and around Lake Charles.”

Mayor Hunter will collect monetary and toy donations on the day of the event. There will also be $5 raffle tickets sold to benefit Holiday Hands program, and a grand prize drawing at 6 p.m.

Holiday Helping Hands is a community service program of the Young Lawyers Section of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association. Last year, the program sponsored 215 children in Southwest Louisiana. Visit www.swlba.org/young-lawyers for more details.
