The list of hip-hop songs featuring references to NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick will continue to grow when Meek Mill drops his Kap-inspired song. Appearing at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 48th Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. on DATE, the rapper revealed a new song on his upcoming album is about Kaepnerick.

"I actually got a song coming out about Colin Kaepernick," the Philadelphia rapper told a reporter before reciting some of the lyrics. “They won’t lynch him by hanging from a tree/They lynch his bank account,” he rapped.

Meek also spit, “They told Kap to stand up if you want to play for a team, and most of his teammates said the same thing,” and, “Back in the ’30s you would be killed if you kneeled/They won’t kill you now, they just take you out of the deal.”

While Meek didn't reveal any other details about the song or his forthcoming project, he did say the album would be a surprise release. "I'm not actually giving out a release date, it's a surprise album," he said.

Rappers such as Big Sean, Swae Lee, Lupe Fiasco, Eminem, Dizzy Wright and more have all name-dropped Kaepernick in songs, but Wale is one of the few to name a song after the quarterback.

Meek Mill has been teasing a new album for a few weeks now, and earlier this month, revealed merchandise from his online shop would come bundled with a digital copy of the album. The project will serve as a follow-up to his Legends of the Summer EP, which was released in July.
