Metairie Woman Burns Roommate’s Face With Drain Cleaner For Keeping Music Too Loud

When your roommate tells you to turn down your music, you might want to think about how crazy they are before you decide to tick them off. One Metairie man learned that the hard way.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Zahofong Meng, 54, after she poured industrial strength drain cleaner on her roommate’s head. The guy, whose name was not released, suffered second- and third-degreeburns on his face and hands. He may also lose his vision, according to the arrest report. Meng is being charged with aggravated battery, according to the Times-Picayune.
So what happened? Meng told police that the roommate always kept his computer volume up very high. He’d leave it on at night, and Meng said it kept her from sleeping. And if she couldn’t sleep, he wasn’t going to either, apparently.
This may not be the first trouble Meng’s been in, since she’s also being held on a detainer from U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
