I remember the first time I heard Monica and the song "Just one of those days" from her album "Miss Thang". There was alot of flack from the title and everyone had their definition of what the song was talking about. Fast foward almost 20 years later and Monica is still a beast when it comes to singing and can run circles around some of your favorite singers out there.

Although there was not alot of news about it, she released her latest album called "Code Red". She said the title had more to do with the state of R&B music and she is trying her best to save what alot of folks think have left. I have her album and I have to admit from the lyrics to the production, the album is one for the books. Some of my favorite standout tracks are the current single "Just Right For Me" , "Call My Name", "All Men Lie" which is gonna ruffle some feathers. Also "Anchor" and "Saints and Sinners" The entire album is definately one to add to your collection, but these are some that I have been playing on  repeat since I got the album.

If you haven't seen the latest video check out "Just Right For Me" with Lil Wayne and ride to it for a minute.

She is showing that she is not a little girl anymore and is very much all woman. I love to hear her in interviews as she talks about the drama and issues that she has faced and how she is not one who will be drug back into negativity. Make sure you download that "Code Red" and support her movement, apparently her label isn't supporting her like they should be, so we have to show them that we love real music and move those units for real R&B music.
