Music legend Tom Jones as in the Blue-eyed soul best know for songs like "She's a Lady" "It's Not Unusual" and "What's New Pussycat" wants to know if he's black. According to the U.K.’s Telegraph the Welsh singer has been the "Bud" of a longstanding joke, that he's actually a Black man.

I guess he's heard it so long or been asked about his ethnicity so much, he felt there may be something to this.  So reportedly, the 75-year old entertainer is planning to undergo DNA testing to see where exactly he gets his naturally curly locks from and whether or not he has Black ancestors.

In a recent interview Jones said on the subject,

”A lot of people still think I'm Black. “When I first came to America, people who had heard mesing on the radio would be surprised that I was white when they saw me. Because of my hair, a lot of Black people still tell me I'm just passing as white."

For now the Wales native, knows his parents are of English and Welsh decent.  However, the subject on whether or not he was black came up at his birth.  The legendary entertainer revealed his mother was even asked if she had any “Black blood” when he was born.  Later in life when he asked his mom if they had black ancestors he said, “She said she didn't know." That was enough for him to to look into that matter further.  He said "I'm going to get my DNA tested. I want to find out."

Hopefully, whatever he discovers about his family, he's going to be satisfied. I will keep you posted!  In the meantime LISTEN LIVE to The Peoples Station 107 Jamz twice a day, every weekday at 12:20 p.m. and 3:35 p.m.
