According to NOLA.com, New Orleans Saints Kicker Garrett Hartley has been waived today (Tuesday, Dec. 17th), after he missed two field goals against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday (Dec. 15th). Cornerback Chris Carr has also been waived.

Hartley's 36-yard field goal was blocked and he missed a second one from 26 yards in Sunday's game.

A new kicker has yet to be announced.

Hartley has made 22 of 30 (73%) of his kicks this season. Coach Sean Payton brought in five new kickers back in November. There was always a back up plan, especially after several pivotal mistakes the veteran kicker made earlier in the season.

Hartley is a six year veteran, with lifetime stats that are 82 of 101, as spent his entire career in New Orleans. He's most famous for the kick that sent the Saints to to Super Bowl XLIV.
