Absolutely no one showed up to that anti-Beyonce rally proving that objects on the internet may appear larger than they are in real life.

Tons of people lost their minds, taking offense to Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime performance of "Formation," because it used costuming and imagery inspired by the Black Panthers.

In the days that followed the Super Bowl it was the hottest topic on Facebook and all the major news outlets. Soon, that outrage turned into a planned "anti-Beyonce rally" event, scheduled for 8 a.m. today (Feb. 16) outside NFL headquarters.

Are you offended as an American that Beyoncé pulled her race-baiting stunt at the Superbowl?

Do you agree that it was a slap in the face to law enforcement?

Do you agree that the Black Panthers was/is a hate group which should not be glorified?

Come and let’s stand together. Let’s tell the NFL we don’t want hate speech & racism at the Superbowl ever again!

As you would expect, the rally was covered by every relevant newspaper, blog and media outlet you could think of. Some were empowered. Others were offended. A counter-rally was planned.

And when the day finally came for people to come together and stand up to the NFL, showing once, and for all that they refuse to tolerate this type of foolishness—no one showed up.

Well, I should be fair and say the number was closer to, like, three.

Three whole people showed up—and they may or may not have actually been counter-protesters. Let's just say there were far more police than people who showed up for the rally.

So what does it all mean?

Well, it can mean a few things.

For starters, it definitely shows that we tend to get WAY more heated about things in an online domain because it takes WAY less effort to "take a stand" on the internet than it does to actually show up and be heard on any particular issue at hand.

With that said, it may also mean that while you may not agree with Beyonce's "message," it really isn't as threatening or detrimental to society as some have made it out to be. It's also clear that people are only outraged if it doesn't require any actual energy, time or effort.

If actions speak louder than words, then it's pretty clear that everyone (online) needs to shut up about Beyonce.

You know, maybe SNL wasn't too far off with this one.
