Today in Tha Wire Prince Be, whose real name was Attrell Cordes, of the 90's hip-hop/R&B duo, P.M. Dawn die Friday.  He was only 46 years old.  His death was quite a shocker to fan and fellow artists in the music world.  As it turns out the eccentric entertainer was a diabetic and reportedly over the last few years was having major complications from the disease, even being diagnosed with acute renel failure (kidney failure.)  While at a Jersey hospital the rapper/singer died from those complications Friday morning (June 17, 2016.)

Prince Be and his brother, Jarret Cordes, best known as DJ Minutemix formed P.M. Dawn in 1988 and scored their first and only #1 hit in 1991 with the track, "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss."

Though the group spawned a few more singles through the years, they would never repeat the success they had from Set a Drift..  The track was the lead-off single from the groups critically acclaimed debut album, Of the Heart, of the Soul and of the Cross: The UtopianExperience.  With the loss of his brother, Jarret, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook in his memory.

We offer our condolences to their family, friends and fans.
