In early spring of 2016, XXL staff members flew out to Tampa, Fla., to interview rapper and Fort Myers native Plies. During the sit-down interview with the "Ritz Carlton" rhymer, XXL learned a little bit more about Plies' love for old school cars as well a special project he was working on for quite some time.

After wrapping up a portion of his interview for the Spring 2016 issue at upscale restaurant Ocean Prime, the "Shawty" rapper took the staff to one of his favorite hang out spots in Tampa, Classic Auto. The 32-year-old rapper showed off his custom-made copper Pontiac 350 car for the first time, a project that Plies says was in the works for a while. After breaking down the special features of his custom-made vehicle, Plies goes in-depth about his love for old school cars and how the Florida lifestyle influences his love for muscle vehicles.

Along with all the car talk, Plies spoke with XXL about his career boost thanks to the power of Instagram and his musical resurgence with the unexpected smash hit "Ritz Carlton"—which had the world "Running Off The Plug Twice."
