Q-Tip Gives Iggy Azalea A Hip Hop History Lesson

Today in Tha Wire, as Azealia Banks & Iggy Azalea continue their beef, rap legend Q-Tip drops some knowledge & Nicki Minaj debuts 'The Pinkprint' mini-movie.

Accourding to AllHipHop rapper Azealia Banks has made a name for herself when it comes to attacking other artists on social media. Recently she sat down with Hot 97 to talk about just that and a variety of other things, like getting dropped from her label. When the topic of black culture being performed by white artists, the Harlem singer/rapper went into detail on her issues with Iggy Azalea, T.I., & the media. Here's a look at the interview.

Though I don't agree with everything Azealia Banks says, on the Grammy Awards in regard to Macklemore and Iggy...she was spot on, in my opinion.

Not long after Azealia's interview, Hotnewhiphop reports Iggy was quick to respond in a series of tweets obviously taking offense to Banks remarks about about race and politics, saying that none of that had nothing to do with her hip-hop career. Then peppered the rapper with reasons her career hasn't gone anywhere.

Rap legend Q-Tip of the iconic Tribe Called Quest, surprised everyone by jumping in to add his perspective. Q didn't attack either artist, however he did school Iggy and others on the history of Hip Hop. Tweeting that Hip Hops very foundation had everything to do with politics and race. Out of nowhere T.I. jumped in to defend Iggy, but the problem is... he didn't need to.
