When haters are getting too close, there’s only one thing to tell them: back up. R. Kelly and Shawnna, formally of Ludacris’ Disturbing tha Peace crew, have teamed up to keep the naysayers in check on ‘Back Up.’

On the song, the Chi-Town crooner, who has a pocket full of cash, strolls through the strip club ready to spend money and dares anyone who isn’t spending any bank notes to come near him. The Pied Piper dabbles between soulful singer and rapper as he opens up the track with hate-repelling bars.

“But I ain’t trying to brag tho / Haters move too slow / Y’all better step it up,” he rhymes.

Meanwhile, he goes back to R. Kelly mode and sings on the chorus, but it's nothing like the old ballads we're familiar with hearing from him.

R. Kelly announced earlier this year that he was recording a house album but that might be delayed. So while we wait for his project, take a listen to this song below.
