Raheem DeVaughn and poet Wes Felton are teaming back up again to re-form their group, The CrossRhodes, with a new single, “Footprints on the Moon.”

The two were moved to speak out about the recent and all-too-often shootings of black and brown people by police officers, including the “unlawful murder of Freddie Gray.”

“Don’t settle for the city the block or the street / They lyin’ bout them there two white feet / That landed on the moon a year after they killed King / What if I told you that the sky was the ground / Of a universal planet that this planet never found / I bet there’s no n—– on Mars how that sound?/ No need for cars, fake broads or fake pounds,” raps Felton in the five-minute song.

They even throw some shade to Justin Timberlake after he was criticized for appropriating R&B music.  “We done gave away rhythm and blues / Word to Justin / I know some crooked suits and ties I don’t trust ‘em / The only topic of discussion is who they touchin’ / Or who they buyin’ or who they f—–’,” he raps.

The duo is set to continue with a full album that’s promises to be “soundtrack and [to] be a movement against the social injustices that we see streaming on social media and televised almost daily against citizens world wide.”

The forthcoming album’s title has yet to be announced, but is set to be released in 2017. It will be their first project since their 2005 debut project, The Love Experience.
