Rapper Shawty Lo died just two weeks after his father Carl L. Walker passed away on September 6, 2016. The Atlanta hip-hop icon penned a song for his dad called “Letter 2 My Father”, which he had been promoting via his Instagram account just days before his tragic death in a car accident on an Atlanta highway, Tuesday, September 20.

The D Train 808 produced track and its video were released on today, via the producer's YouTube account with the caption:

RIP TO MY BIG BRO!!!! Prayers for him and his family. He just Lost His dad 2 weeks ago. This the last song he recorded. Legends Never Die. #RIPShawtyLO

It’s sad listening to the song, especially with all that has taken place since last night. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends for losing the two patriarchs of their family within the same month.
