Rich Homie Quan Shares His Pain for New Song “Heart Cold”

Rich Homie Quan is prepping to make a comeback in 2017. Since dropping his double platinum track “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” in 2015, Rich Homie has been eerily quiet. This year, the Atlanta native has already dropped two new songs in recent weeks—“Da Streetz” and “Replay.”

Today (April 7), he drops "Heart Cold,” a record that finds RHQ opening up about everything he's been through and the paranoia it causes him now that he's a boss. "Fucking hoes gets old/Getting money ain't new/Shawty think I'm a businessman cause she seen the homie in a suit," he raps.

The new Motown Records signee began his rap career in 2012, with I Go In on Every Song but broke out the following year with his Still Going in Reloaded mixtape and his gold-certified “Type Of Way” single. After linking with on-again, off-again best friend Young Thug and Birdman to form Rich Gang, they dropped Tha Tour Part 1, led by their “Lifestyle” single. Rich Homie Quan was destined for stardom.

In 2015, he released “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” the biggest song of his career, but remained quiet in 2016. XXL spoke to the Atlanta native for our fall issue last year and he explained why he took a step back from the spotlight. Earlier this year, when he signed to Capitol, he told us he had a couple projects on the way, including his long-awaited official debut album Rich in Spirit.
