Some new information has surfaced in connection to the January drive-by-shooting involving Rick Ross. The Smoking Gun reports that the Miami rapper was in fact armed during the shooting incident.

If you recall, on Jan. 28, Rozay was leaving a Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. club in his Rolls Royce vehicle when another car drove up next to it and opened fire. To avoid the hail of bullets, the rapper then crashed his vehicle into an apartment complex. Neither him, nor his passenger -- girlfriend Shateria Moragne-El -- were injured in the shooting.

According to the police report, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department wrote that Rozay was in possession of a loaded black-and-chrome Smith & Wesson semi-automatic gun, which he kept hidden in his waistband at the time. However, this could be problematic for the Maybach Music honcho since his handgun permit was expired at the time of the shooting.

Police spoke to two eyewitnesses who also said they saw a BMW vehicle with 3 to 4 black males in the car shooting at Ross' vehicle. Police have not found the assailants who committed this dastardly deed.

After his harrowing incident, Ross told MTV's Sway Calloway that he's going to stay focused on his music career and not the negativity. "I’m just staying positive, I’m moving forward and I’m just staying on top of my game," he said. "You most definitely gotta make some adjustments, but at the same time I’ma live my life and I’ma do what I love to do, and that’s make music."

In the meantime, Ross is working on his sixth album, titled ‘Mastermind.'
