UPDATE 11:20 a.m. August 15th

Per the Louisiana State police, I-10 In Acadia Parish both East and Westbound have been closed until further notice.

Acadia Parish on I-10 is basically just East of Jennings to Duson which is just west of Scott and Lafayette.

The weather has been horrible the last few days especially in down the I-10 corridor.  Areas like Welsh Jennings, Lake Arthur, Crowley, Eunice, Lafayette and Baton Rouge were especially hit hard will heavy rains and flooding.

In Lake Arthur alone, there is a mandatory evacuation because the Mermentau River is expected to crest and flood the area.

Sgt. James Anderson with the Louisiana State police came in this morning and advised us of roads that are currently closed due to flooding.

Here are the current closures:

Between Exit 44: US 165 (near Iowa) and Exit 103A-103B: I-49; US 167 (Lafayette). The road is closed because of flooding.

Between Ward Line Road and Guidry Road (1 mile east of the Jennings area). Look out for flooding. The road is closed.

Between LA 3067 (1 mile north of the Iota area) and LA 368 (2 miles south of the Eunice area). Look out for flooding. The road is closed.

Between LA 97 and LA 91 (7 to 12 miles west of the Crowley area). Look out for flooding. The road is closed.

Between LA 42; LA 948 and Buzbee Drive (1 mile south of the Baton Rouge area). The road is closed because of flooding.

Between Exit 163: LA 3246; Siegen Lane (near Baton Rouge) and Exit 177: LA 30 (2 miles west of the Gonzales area). The road is closed because of flooding.

Please be careful out there and if you see standing water on the road, do not go through it because you never know how high the water could be.  Better safe than sorry.
