This Rosepine couple ended up in the slammer after Vernon Parish authorities not only busted them with over $5,700 worth of meth. but also determined that their child had been exposed to it.  KPLC reports that their 10-month-old baby tested positive for the drug.

Heather Jenkins, 22, and Michael Moore, 55, of J.P. Calcote Road, were found with 1.75 ounces of methamphetamine with a street value of $5,760.  This was after Beauregard Memorial Hospital staff contacted the authorities on January 17 with concerns.

(Vernon Parish Sheriff Sam) Craft said Moore told detectives the child was in the same room while he and others smoked methamphetamine.

Jenkins was arrested and booked with possession of methamphetamine and cruelty to a juvenile. Her bond was set at $35,000.

Moore was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of controlled dangerous substances, distribution of methamphetamine and possession of schedule IV with the intent to distribute.

Making matters worse, Moore was already out on bond for prior meth charges.  Yikes.
