According to WSHH, after stopping a man (Levar Jones) in Columbia, South Carolina for a seat belt violation a S.C. trooper asked the driver (Jones) for his license, then shot him when he went to reach for his license. The trooper has been charged with 'assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.' 31-year-old lance corporal Sean Groubert has been fired from the S.C. Highway Patrol, and now faces 20 years in prison if convicted of wrongfully shooting Jones.
