Saints Fans Requesting Black And Gold King Cakes For Mardi Gras

The Mardi Gras season has begun but we are also in the middle of the NFL playoffs.  How do those two go hand in hand you ask?

Well with the success of the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs, fans are requesting Black and Gold king cakes for their Saints parties and Mardi Gras balls and events.

Instead of the traditional Green, Purple and Gold king cakes, Saints fans are opting for a king cake with Black and Gold king cakes.

The king cakes the traditional white icing but has Black and Gold sprinkles dusted on top of the icing.

The Saints of course just beat the Carolina panthers last Sunday to advance to the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.  They will travel up to Minnesota to take on the Vikings this Sunday.
