Free agency is underway, and the cash strapped Saints have tendered two of their restricted free agents, according to multiple reports.

Tight end Josh Hill and guard Tim Lelito have both been with New Orleans for 3 seasons after making the team as undrafted free agents in 2013.

The Saints tendered both of them restricted free agents offers of 1-year, $1.67 million. It is the lowest possible tender for a RFA.

Other NFL teams are allowed to make each player a better offer. If a team does, the Saints are allowed to match the offer, or let the player walk with no compensation.

Both players have shown upside, but struggled with consistency.

Lelito has started 17 games, including 13 last season at left guard.

Hill has done well on special teams, but was not a prominent weapon in the Saints offense a season ago in the wake of Jimmy Graham being traded to Seattle.
