Meet Sasha (Lou Lou).  This adorable little girl is believed to be between 1 and 2-years old. She's only been with Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue (LCPBR) for three days or so. Sadly Sasha's story is familiar, in that she was simply unwanted and uncared for.  People, just don't do their homework when it comes to getting dogs.  Even worse, they get tired of them or realize it requires a commitment and work and then abandon them.

More than likely that's what happened to Sasha because she was found wondering the streets in very bad condition.  LCPBR isn't sure what breed she is, but she appears to be either a Shih Tzu, maybe a Maltese or a mix of both.

Either way, she is a sweet little thing and once she's placed in a stable and loving environment, she'll be able to relax and finally enjoy life.  Right now, she's living with her foster mother Whitney and slowly but surely coming out of her shell.  Whitney says Sasha LOVES to jump and play.

Check out the video below to find out more about little Sasha.

Sasha is a long-haired breed.  However, she can be groomed pretty much like she is if you prefer short hair on a dog.  Just know, she need to be groomed often to prevent getting her hair from being matted up.  A concerned citizen actually saved Sasha's life. They seen she was badly matted and wondering around in need of help and called Calcasieu Parish Animal Shelter.

They in turned notified Rene Smith of Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue and Sasha's journey for a second chance at life, has officially begun.  Take a look at this video and see her unbelievable transformation.  I should warn you, this is a tear jerker.

Sasha is one of many loving animals who needs a stable home, with responsible owners to love and care for her for the rest of her life.  By the way, she's awesome with other pets and children as well.  She's had all her shots, been spayed and micro-chipped.  To adopt her or get more details about other dogs in need of adoption, click here.

If you can't adopt and keep a dog long term.  Foster Parents are always needed at LCPBR.  The more Foster Parents, the more room for other dogs to be rescued.  For more details, click here.
