Spoken word poet and star of the 1998 film Slam Saul Williams scored the starring role.  Williams is the right man for the job and is quite an accomplished musician and author as well. Holler If Ya Hear Me has a rather eceltic cast to include Tonya Pinkins (Jelly’s Last Jam), Christopher Jackson (In the Heights), Saycon Sengbloh (Motown: The Musical), Ben Thompson (American Idiot), John Earl Jelks (Gem of the Ocean), Joshua Boone, and Dyllon Burnside

As previously mentioned this musical is not a Tupac biography, but Pac’s music and lyrics were used as inspiration for the story.  Speaking of which, the musical is about two childhood friends and their struggles living in urban America. By the way Tupac’s mother is a producer for Holler If Ya Hear Me and previews at New York City’s Palace Theatre on May 26th, and officially opens on June 19th.

During a hearing Monday (April 7th), a police detective revealed that Chris Brown’s bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy confessed to and insists Breezy had nothing to do with it. The alleged victim, Parker Adams, is  suing Chris Brown and the his bodyguard for the incident that occurred outside the W Hotel in Washington, D.C. last October.

During Police Detective Kimberly Metivier’s testimony, Hollsoy adimitly denied Chris had any physical involvement in the assault what-so-ever and took the blame.  Det.  Metivier testified when officers arrived on the scene Breezy’s bodyguard was “yelling on his own accord that he was the one who did it … and not to arrest Mr. Brown.”
