Sean Ardoin will be live this weekend at the Blue Dog Café’s for Zydeco Lunch.

So, if you're looking for amazing entertainment coupled with amazing food look no further.

Zydeco is a staple of Lake Charles because it is the home of significant Zydeco musicians such as Rockin' Sidney (of My Toot Toot fame), Wilson Anthony "Boozoo" Chavis, Queen Ida (Queen of Zydeco), and Lawrence Ardoin. Zydeco started at dances in area family homes. Zydeco is a Louisiana folk-music tradition with a fast tempo beat, French and English lyrics, and focus on the accordion and wash-board. Today, the genre is known for its traditional form and fusing in influences from R&B, soul, brass band, reggae, hip hop, rock and Afro-Caribbean.

At Blue Dog Café’s Saturday Zydeco Lunch, doors open at 10:30 AM and music is from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Cover is $5 for adults, $3 for persons under 18 and free for children 12 and under in order to access the entertainment area where lunch is available for purchase. The Blue Dog Café main dining room also remains open with no cover and daily menu as during normal business hours.
