Today in Tha Wire fresh off of Mommy duty, tennis world champ Serena Williamsreturns to the court to add a few more titles to her legacy. The 2018 Teen Choice Athlete of The Year is playing in the Cincinnati Masters, and will take on Daria Gavrilova Petra Kvitova', and more throughout the week.

Williams is not only a staple on the tennis court, but known for making a mean fashion statement anytime she plays. This year fans can expect more trend-setting moments from the court, as she debuts new tennis fashions designed by, artistic director of Louis Vuitton's Menswear Collection and acclaimed African American fashion designer, Virgil Abloh.  HotNewHipHop reports Abloh crafted The Queen Collection specifically designed with the diva tennis star in mind. This year Serena will reveal several pieces from the limited edition line, so be on the lookout.

In conjunction with his Off-White brand, and Nike...the Serena collection includes special edition tutu tennis dresses, shirts, jackets, and other fly gear fit for a queen. In addition the collection offers a new spin on the Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid, Off-White x Nike Air Max 97, and the Nike x Virgil Abloh NikeCourt Flares tennis shoes. Serena sat down with Vogue to talk about her exciting new line. She said, "I have never worn a tutu. Every girl loves a tutu, or at least I do! It’s always been my dream to wear a tutu, and I can’t wait to wear it on court.”

Joining the interview via email, Abloh explained how his new line was perfect for the amazing female athlete writing. “When I was thinking about outfits for Serena, I was thinking about her playing the game and her aesthetic while she is. Also about the confidence that’s needed while playing at the top level of tennis.” Confidence is something the tennis diva has never had a problem with. She's never been afraid to step out of the box, especially when it came to setting a new fashion trend in the world of tennis.
