Officers with the Lake Charles Police Department arrested a convicted sex offender at a local restaurant last night, Thursday, December 13, 2018, following a warrant check.  According to a media release, it was at 6:30 pm when officers were dispatched to a local fast food restaurant in the 2600 block of Broad Street for "several people trespassing".

An officer made contact with Stephen Lee Carbone, 30, who they learned was a convicted sex offender in Louisiana. After a check of the registry, investigators learned he wasn't in possession of a Louisiana Sex Offender ID.

Carbone was reportedly "convicted in 2018 for Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile, his victim was a 14-year-old female". He's a Louisiana tier 1 sex offender requiring him to register with law enforcement for 15 years.

No bond was set at the time of the media release.
