Today in Tha Wire, they were the first state in the country to legalize the sell of medical marijuana. Now California residents are celebrating another monumental moment in their states history. The Huffington Post reports that at the stroke of midnight, New Year's Day 2018, California legalized recreational weed. Stoners across the state were more than ready to ring-in the New Year puffing a "J," and formed long lines at the few dispensaries who got their license in time for the NYE sales.

Buddy's Cannabis in my hometown of San Jose, California is among the very first to obtain a license to sell legal weed. Under the new state law customers can buy up to an ounce of recreational Chronic, and 1/2 pound of Merry Jane with a medical card at the Bay Area shop. CNN reports just because recreational weed is now legal to sell in California, doesn't mean users can light-up anywhere. It's still prohibited to blaze-up in public places, bars and restaurants in the state. Believe it or not, most landlords don't allow pot smoking inside their rental properties either.

Below is a look at more details pertaining to legal marijuana sells in the sunshine state.
