Today in Tha Wire, it's already been a big year for the founder of So So Def Records, rapper/producer Jermaine Dupri. In February, the music icon was inducted into the 2018 Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame. The honor was well deserved and came as a welcome surprise for JD when he got the news. Now he's ready to celebrate his label's legacy and success over the past 25 years with a massive reunion tour, according to AllHipHop. This October, the iconic Atlanta record label will mark its 25th anniversary, with all the So So Def artists.

Dupri is ready for the big road trip, telling the Associated Press, "I feel like with my artists and even myself, people don't pay enough attention to how much we mean to the culture and how much So So Def meant to breaking the South and making people pay attention to Atlanta." The So So Def 25th Anniversary Cultural Curren$y Tour will roll out October 14, and wrap-up in November. I truly hope they adjust the itinerary, because there's not a single stop anywhere near us. In the meantime, for those fans lucky enough to be along the tour trek, tickets go on sale Friday, August 3, 2018. Get your tickets now at www.sosodef.com!

The road trip will blow through 11 cities and features every artist that made the label hot starting with Jermaine himself, Da Brat, Bow Wow, Xscape, UsherJagged Edge, and much more.

Jermaine said of the big event, "This is perfect timing. This is the 25th anniversary of a black-owned record company that put out multiple artists and enough artists to do our own tour. We're blessed, basically."

Amen! By the way, JD is also releasing an all-star reunion album called, Jermaine Dupri Presents So So Def 25. The compilation project is available now and includes So So Def's biggest hits like Dupri's own Money Aint A Thang (feat. Jay-Z), Da Brat's Funkdafied, Xscape's Just Kickin' It, and many other famous tracks.
