Soulja Boy made a big splash in the tech world when he launched his video game consoles and his SouljaWatches earlier this month and now, it looks like Soulja wants to throw his hat in the competitive Esports ring.

In an interview TMZ Sports posted yesterday (Dec. 16), the Atlanta rapper said he was happy with the success of his console and handheld products and was looking to do bigger things in 2019. Soulja added that he’s looking to create an Esports team to compete against other players in Fortnite, Call of Duty, Overwatch and other multiplayer games.

"We're gonna be finding talent [and] hiring talent," said the Young Drako MC. "But one thing at a time."

Esports is a billion-dollar competitive gaming tournament. Competitors from different leagues or teams play against each other in popular video games like Fortnite, Madden NFL, Call of Duty, just to name a few.

These tournaments are streamed all over the world and watched by millions of fans. Streaming services like Twitch allow viewers to watch as their favorite gamers play in real time. Some of the casual gamers have turned into major stars. One popular gamer in the industry goes by the name of Ninja.

Soulja cites Ninja as one of his good friends who has taught him a lot about the video gaming business. However, he wasn't too sure if he could get Ninja to join his roster.

"Shout out to Ninja...he taught me a lot about streaming. He got me verified on Twitch. He helped me with my streams. It's going to [take] a lot of [money] to hire Ninja to play for me," he said.
