The 13th annual Super Bowl Gospel celebration is fastly approaching.  If you didn't know the highlight of the event is performance of the NFL Players Choir.  Yep, the NFL actually has a choir and their pretty darn good too.

The NFL sanctioned event comes to Indy during Super Bowl XLVI weekend with an evening of inspiration with legendary NFL Pro Bowlers, Super Bowel Champions and MVP's together on one stage with Grammy Award winning artists, A-list entertainers and special guests.

Here they are performing a stirring rendition of the patriotic classic America The Beautiful, featuring 32 of the NFL's greatest players and the 92-piece University of North Texas Symphony. The roster of the NFL Players Choir included Darren Carrington (Chargers/Broncos), Dextor Clinkscale (Cowboys), Marvin Cobb (Bengals, Steelers, Vikings), Don Davis (Patriots), M.E. Tony Davis (Bengals), Ebenezer Ekuban (Broncos), Marv Fleming (Packers/Dolphins),Darrell Green (Redskins), M. L. Harris (Bengals), J.D. Hill (Bills), Roy Jefferson (Steelers/Colts/Redskins), Ray Jackson (Bengals/Titans), Olrick Johnson (Patriots), Sydney Justin (Rams), Eddie Kennison (Chiefs/Rams), Henry Lawrence (Raiders), Larry Lee (Eagles), Eugene Lockhart (Cowboys/Patriots), Larry Mallory (Giants), Mike Martin (Bengals), Stockar McDougle (Lions), Michael Merriweather (Steelers/Vikings/Jets/Packers), Drew Pearson (Cowboys), Steve Pierce (Browns), Marcus Price (Chargers/Bills/Saints), Isaiah Robertson (Rams/Bills), Je'Mone Smith (Eagles), Neil Smith (Chiefs/Broncos/Chargers), Otto Stowe (Cowboys) and Tim Watson (Packers).

The event will be hosted by Wayne Brady and CeCe Winans with Fantasia serving as the headliner, which will also include a duet with her mother Diane Barrino.  Gospel and contemporary Christian artists like Natalie Grant, Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker and more will all be on hand,  along with Verizon's How Sweet The Sound 2011 Overall Winning Choir, Salvation and Deliverance Church Choir.

As I said the highlight of the celebration is the NFL choir, featuring current and former players.  As a matter of fact the choir has become one of the most anticipated performances during Super Bowl Weekend.  Celebrating it's five-year anniversary, the NFL Choir made it's debut at the 2008 show with more than 40 members, including Ray Lewisand Bryant McKinnie and all under the direction of Donnie McClurkin.

The choir was formed by several Christian NFL players who wanted to share their faith through their musical talents in song and instrument.  The group offers fans an opportunity to see a very personal side of the players, as they make a joyful noise.  The NFL Players Choir will sing a gospel favorite with Fantasia!!!!

Not sure when this will air on T.V., but check your local listings for more info.
