It's been a little over a month since SZA announced that she was done making music and seemingly walking away from her record deal with Top Dawg Entertainment.

"I actually quit. @iamstillpunch can release my album if he ever feels like it. "Ya'll be blessed," tweeted the singer, and she doubled down on that statement during an interview with Complex.

During the extended chat, SZA said she's ready to get her creative fulfillment in other ways besides songwriting and going to the studio.

"I'll probably just do something different," she stated. "Something visual, probably film. I'm really frustrated, and I'm kind of over it. I have a lot of anxiety, and there's a lot going on in my life."

The 26-year-old also denied that she had a falling out with TDE, and although she admitted that she and the label's president Punch rarely see eye-to-eye, it's still all love.

"Me and Punch never get along, that's everyday," SZA explained. "They call me one of the homies. We're all different, and that was hard to understand [in the beginning], because they're tough-love people and hard to read but I dig it now. I don't have any issues with my label. My label has been nothing but supportive of everything I've wanted to do."

She goes on to say that this year has been a really tough one for her personally, as she's lost quite a few people who were close to her.

“Completing this [album] and these last couple of moments on the clock before this project is done are definitely the most pivotal moments of my life,” she explained. “Growing up as a woman, making tough decisions, and sticking by my own shit is necessary. But I definitely …I’m definitely committed to completing this and I think…We’ll take it from there.”

Punch says her upcoming project finds her stretching creatively, though there is still no word on when it will see the light of ay.

“She used to hide behind reverb and vibe, but this [album] is more raw,” Punch told Complex. “You can tell she’s speaking from experience and there are a lot of feelings there.”
