Black History Month allows for an extra dose of history on African Americans that have paved the way in civil rights, inventions, music and made American history.

A Northern California school for girls had to issue an apology to students and parents for a lunch menu that featured fried chicken, cornbread, and watermelon as a way to celebrate Black History Month.

The Don is at it again.  He's back on Twitter ranting and raving and this time he's got his sights on rapper Mac Miller.

Have you had eye surgery before?  Was it to correct cataract disease?  If so, you were treated with another invention by an African American.  Today, we salute Dr. Patricia Bath, the first African American woman doctor to receive a patent for a medical invention.

Today we salute a black inventor who was really ahead of his time.  One of his inventions is used by billions of people every minute of the day.  In fact, it would be absolute total chaos without it and driving would be near impossible.

Hopefully you'll never need one, but if there ever comes a time that you might have to get a pacemaker, you can thank black inventor Otis Boykin for inventing the control unit that runs it.  If you have one, I'm sure your thanking him already.
