Jury Announces Conrad Murray's Verdict in Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial

The verdict in the Michael Jackson case is in. The jury convicted Dr. Conrad Murray on charges of involuntary manslaughter, meaning he was found guilty of the charges against him. All 12 members of the jury found Murray guilty, and he now faces up to four years in jail and the loss of his medical license.

In the latest developments, Murray's lawyer Ed Chernoff said in his opening statements that the defense will now go on to claim that Michael didn't drink the lethal dose of Propofol, rather he injected himself instead! What???? They are actually changing their defense mid trial. The new claim is probably a good idea though beings that their own independent study found that swallowing Propofol would not have produced fatal results, as Murray said.

Yesterday, the Conrad Murray trial resumed and the jury got a chance to listen to the remaining portions of the recorded interview the doctor had with police after MJ's death. As adamant as Dr. Murray is about Michael giving himself the lethal dose of Propofol that killed him, the doctor who carried out his autopsy is just as adamant that, that would have been impossible.

It was another growling day in court yesterday as prosecutors focused on the array of drugs found in Michaels home and tried to convince the jury that the doctor is guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors presented evidence that Michael's fingerprints were not on syringes or drug vials taken from his house following his death, discrediting the defense arguments that Michael gave himself the fatal dose of propofol.

Dr. Conrad Murray was back in court yesterday for day 6 of his involuntary manslaughter trial. Autopsy results have shown that Michael Jackson died at age 50 from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol and other sedatives. Dr. Murray had been taking care of him and said he gave Michael a dose of propofol as a sleeping aid on the day he died and has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
