The Louisiana Beer Festival is being held in Lake Charles on September 24th, 2011. It will be held in the Lake Charles Civic Center and will feature more than 100 beers from around the state, the country, and the world.

July 22, 2011 Details are still sketchy at this hour, but there have been reports that a woman opened fire at noon today at the Ross Dress for Less at the Prien Lake Plaza Shopping Center in Lake Charles.
The suspect has been arrested and one victim has been transported to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to police, but no names or details on injuries have been released yet
