The City of Lake Charles Recreation & Parks Department is hosting the new Teen Connections program for ages 13-18, beginning Thurs, Oct. 19, from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. The event will be held on the first and third Thursday of each month at two area community centers.

The classes are free to Calcasieu Parish residents, and are "designed to help teenagers with job skills, college prep, social media, interview skills, and ACT prep", and more. The classes are taught by local educators, government officials, and business leaders from the community of Southwest Louisiana.

Below are two locations where the classes will be held:

  • Cpl. Donald Ray Stevens (formerly Gossport), - 1619 Cessford Street
  • Columbus Circle Center - 3520 Grienwich Boulevard
