If your were fortunate enough to go on the Selma 50th Anniversary trip from Lake Charles to Alabama last year, you had a momentous, soul stirring, humbling and mind blowing experience.  The trip was organized by local citizen Eric Doshier, who simply thought it would be a great idea to go, witness a once in a lifetime event and provide a way for others to do the same.

Eric stopped by the studio and and explained why he's doing this and why he chose the next destination.

President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush, representative John Lewis and thousands of other remembered "Bloody Sunday," a day that ended in bloodshed all because African Americans wanted the right to vote.  The historic march was sparked by the outrage over the death of unarmed, civil rights activist and deacon Jimmy Lee Jackson and the disenfranchisement of black voters.

The trip was simply amazing and unforgettable.  It was then that Mr. Doshier vowed he would organize a historic and educating trip every year.  Keeping his promise, it's time for a "Bar-b-que n Blues"getaway. This time we're going to Memphis, Tennessee. The trip will take place Friday April 15, 2016 through the Saturday April 16 and cost $225 per person, which and will cover your transportation aboard a luxury 55-passenger coach, a meal and hotel stay.

Join us as we tour the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Hotel, dine a B.B. Kings Blues Club & Grill, and stay overnight at the Gold Strike Resort and Casino.  This is a trip you don't wanna miss, for more details contact EricDoshier at (337) 263-4343.
