Since her initial debut on "Bedrock" with Young Money, Nicki Minaj has been making major moves in the business and not just music either. Her debut album was released the week of Thanksgiving and even with stiff competition from Jay-Z and Kanye West, Nicki was victorious.

A little over a month after the release of Nicki Minaj's highly anticipated "Pink Friday," the album has been certified platinum. It only took the Harajuku Barbie six weeks to receive her platinum certification. At press time, the LP stood at no. 8 right under Eminem's "Recovery" and a spot above Keyshia Cole's "Calling All Hearts." It's been in the Top 10 since being released November 22.Quiet as kept, Nicki has been outselling Kanye West, who also came out on the 22nd, in recent weeks. While 'Ye's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" debuted at no.1 and Nicki at no.2, they've since traded places. Yeezy's "Fantasy" presently ranks at no.19. Nicki also has the distinction of being the first New York rapper to have a debut go platinum since Lloyd Banks' "Hunger for More" in 2004.
