CPSO Will Conduct a DWI and Seatbelt Checkpoint Aug. 8th

On Friday, August 8th, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a sobriety and seatbelt checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the parish. Make sure you aren’t breaking the law, because your name will most likely end up inside a press release in my email from CPSO. Not the way you want to become famous, I’m sure of it.

This checkpoint will target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics; as well as, people who are not wearing their seatbelt. They have proven to be very effective in discouraging citizens from driving while impaired and people are more likely to designate a driver when they know sobriety checkpoints are being conducted. — CPSO
