Yesterday I had a blast at the Lake Charles Civic Center for the huge benefit for State Trooper Steven Vincent. The entire communitiy came out and showed their support. They held silent auctions and had some of the best food in the city.

The event started at noon and went until 6 pm and  the weather was perfect for an event like that. There was plenty of music from Louisiana Express, Jamie Bergeron and so many more and they groups all donated their time for the event. Also big shouts out to Deep South Productions who provided the sounds for the event.

I have to admit that one of the touching moments for me was when I got the chance to meet this young man below. You may not be familiar with his name, but his act of courage will be remembered for years to come. His name is Robert Ledoux and his is the man who assisted with apprehending the shooter in the tragic death of State Trooper Vincent. He held the man down until the backup came to arrest the guy.

All in all this was a great event and seeing the community come out and support like this was wonderful. Believe me when times of tragedy come like this, unity is what we need. Again thanks for all involved and for showing love on yesterday.
