Fans won't have to wait until 2017 to hear new music from The-Dream. The singer went on Instagram today (Nov. 29) to announce that he would be releasing a new EP called Love You to Death. The project is scheduled to drop next Friday (Dec. 9).

"Love You To Death EP Dec 9 #LOVEYOUTODEATH #radiokillarecords #rocnation #thedreamlives," he wrote.

Over the past week, The-Dream mentioned the EP's title in multiple posts on Instagram. He initially revealed it by donning a t-shirt that featured the title on the front. He later unveiled the release date before ultimately revealing the project would be an EP.

The-Dream previously stated that he would be releasing a new album in 2017. He hinted at the possibility of dropping an EP before it, so his announcement of Love You to Death is not a complete surprise.

“I’m finished with a new album,” he said at the 2016 BET Hip-Hop Awards. “There’s an incredible song that me and Rick Ross did on the album. I think people are going to love it. I may put out a new EP before that but the new album will be slated at the top of [next] year.”

The Love You to Death EP will be The-Dream's second project of 2016. Back in January, the singer released a 10-track album called Genesis to accompany a short film of the same name. The visual album was a Tidal exclusive, which you can view here.
