Believe it or not, it has been 20 years since the Rodney King beating and the verdict and there was a two hour special that was on VH-1 on last week and man this was a kind of sad thing to watch, but I did and here are some of the things that I took from that!First I remember where I was when Rodney King was assualted and even as a teen this was very hard to believe that something like this happend in our day and age but it did and it was a tense moment for us as African Americans. When I looked at this documentary all I could say was that people basically lost their minds. From all nationalities, plenty of them took part is something that still is very vital to this day. One thing you can't do is fight fire with fire and expect a positive outcome, but there were moments after watching this that I felt where alot of them were coming from. The documentary touched on the Rodney King Beating, The Reginald Denny Beating and so many other moments that were unforgettable and still are at the forefront of the mind. If you get the chance to watch it, please do. It was very insightful and there are alot of things that were touched on that go a little more in debt on the stories. Check out some scens from it here, but make sure to set your dvr to record it when it comes back on VH-1!
