The Legendary DJ Quik Talks Death Row Records Demise, and Kendrick Lamar’s Success [VIDEO]

After a recent show at Compound nightclub Atlanta, Compton rap legend Dj Quick told AllHipHop, Suge Knight wasn’t the demise of Death Row Records, and that he knew Kendrick Lamar was going to be a beast.

According to DJ Quick,

“Death Row was fun when the money was being spent but it wasn’t fun when N*ggas started to get violent and fight, tear up the studio, and come running through there with guns.”

He also touched on the success of fellow Compton MC, Kendrick Lamar.

“I knew Kendrick Lamar was going to be a beast; I didn’t know that he was going to take over the whole game.”

Quik even recalls his most iconic moment being in the same room with Colin Powell, Russell Simmons, Quincy Jones, and Dr. Dre.
