Between touring, their prolific recording schedule, and their gig as the house band for ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,’ the Roots might be the hardest-working band in show business — and they aren’t showing any signs of slowing down.

Barely a year after the release of their ninth studio album, ‘How I Got Over,’ the Roots are back in the studio, laying down tracks for a new full-length release. Thanks to Roots drummer/resident prolific tweeter Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, fans can get a look at the sessions — and hear a clip from one of the new songs.

Going public with the sessions by tweeting the invocation, “Lord please help me not squander my gifts & put my best foot forward,” Thompson sent followers a picture of his drum kit, and followed up with a clip of Roots associate Dice Raw behind the mic.

The Roots don’t waste time between releases — they followed up ‘How I Got Over,’ which dropped last June, with the John Legend collaboration ‘Wake Up!’ in September — but they’re also famously deliberate when it comes to their work. Fans endured months of delays while waiting for ‘How I Got Over,’ so there’s no guarantee that the new album — titled ‘Undun’ — will reach store shelves anytime soon.
