Goodwill Industries CEO James Dreiling tells KPLC-TV, "Notebooks, erasers, what else? I guess chalk, you name it.  It's anything a kid would use in school."

The Goodwill stores participating in the giveaway are in Lake Charles, Sulphur and DeRidder.  Each store will give away five backpacks filled with school supplies.  A total of 15 backpacks to give away to help area kids go back to school in style.

In order to register for the chance to win a backpack stuffed with school supplies, just purchase anything in the store and put your name and number on the receipt.  Registration for the backpack giveaway is now thru August 6.  The day of the give away, one backpack at each store will be given away every two hours.

If you or your company "pay it forward" and would like to help out, Goodwill is still in need of school supply donations.  If you donate school supplies, you will receive a 10-percent off coupon as well as a tax credit receipt if wanted.  By the way, Goodwill will continue to collect donations after the giveaway ends August 6.
