Basketball legend, Wilt Chamberlain set an NBA record with 34 free throw attempts in a game. For 50 years his record would stand until Dwight Howard broke the record in 2012 with 39 attempts in one game.

NBA legend Julius "Dr. J" Erving was born in Roosevelt, New York. Dr. J was the game’s greatest dunkers of all time. He retired in 1987 and scored more than 30,000 points in his career.
