Today in Tha Wire HiphollyWood noted some of the biggest moments in Urban Entertainment last year. There were quite a few, good and bad. Most of their selections were on the money however, I tweaked their list to include some of my own picks. Kanye West made enough headlines to earn the #10 spot on the list. In fact, the sucka-MC had "10 moments" all by himself!

Top 10 Biggest Moments in 2018:

#10 - Kanye West And His Bromance With Donald Trump

professing his love for #45 in the Oval Office....I too have given up on Ye. Last year he probably lost a good 88% of his fan base. For that matter, his closet celeb friends have publicly pulled away from the rapper. Kanye clearly has some issues, and supporting Trump is one of them. The Chi-Town rapper used to be the voice of activism, equality and social justice in Hip Hop. Now he's walking around with a MAGA hat, supporting a man whose ideology is the exact opposite. There was a small glimmer of hope that the rap star woke-up when he announced in October:

Sadly, his realization didn't last long. The first day of 2019, he was back on the Trump wagon vowing to wear his mutha******* hat at all his shows. Oh and that he's running for president in 2024! For the love of God Kanye, please be quiet.

#9 - Tristan Thompson Caught Cheating On Chloe

What's so cold about this story is... nobody seen it coming. Khloe Kardashian was finally getting everything she wanted in 2018. She had a revenge body out of this world, a new NBA baller boo, love, and was expecting her first child April 12. Tristan and Khloe were inseparable and seemed to be incredibly happy. Just 2 days before giving birth to their daughter True, pics surfaced of Tristan in a New York hotel with another woman.

By the time the all the details were released, the NBA star was accused of being with at least 5 different women while dating Khloe at the same time. Things went from bad to worse, as pics and videos hit social media to back up the heartbreaking accusations. The crazy thing about it was Tristan did the same thing to his previous girlfriend, model Jordan Craig. He and Khloe stepped out as a couple, while Jordan was 6 months pregnant with Tristan's first child. Karma?

#8 - Drake And Pusha T Beef

Drake and Pusha T's rap beef really got vicious. The epic back and forth went from ghostwriter accusations, baby mama and fiance' shade, distracks, threats of violence and on and on.

They have had a very long, very dangerous beef that dragged other artists into the war of words like Lil Wayne, Baby, and Kanye West. West, by the way, is accused of spilling all of Drakes business to Pusha and arming him with most of the lyrics for "The Story Adidon." Hopefully, the two rappers can turn the other cheek and let this ignorant battle for good. I doubt it though.

#7 - Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly Beef

The bad blood between Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly dates back to 2012, when Kelly made the mistake of tweeting about Em's daughter. He tweeted,

“Ok so I just saw a picture of Eminem’s daughter… and I have to say, she is hot as f—, in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king."

Kelly said he didn't know Hailie was 16 years old at the time, he told PEOPLE during an interview. He added that he was reacting to a headline on how, "this person that we had known through records is all grown up.” He continued, “I didn’t feel like it was disrespectful, but I’m a father, I have a nine-year-old daughter, I get it 100 percent.”

Well actually, the real problem started when MGK responded to Em's response. Killing part is, Em said he didn't know about Kelly's tweet about his daughter until a year later!

#6 Cardi B and Nicki Minaj Beef

The longstanding beef between Nicki Minaj, Cardi B took on a life of it's own in 2018. They went from tossing words, throwing hands, to hurling shoes at each other across the room! Everything was good between Cardi and Nicki in the beginning. They extended well wishes to one another for various awards. Then the bottom fell out after Nicki took to the Gram and posted:

#5 - Offset Cheating On Cardi B

Cardi had a lot of ups and downs in 2018. She made music history several times, and racked up on trophy at just about every award show. It was a HUGE year for her career, but her love life was struggling. Offset was a repeat offender when it came to saying no to the ladies. They broke up, and got back together a couple of times during the year.  During happier times the couple celebrating the rap stars pregnancy, and welcomed their first child, Kurture Kiari Cephus, in July. Sadly before the end of the year, the Bronx rap superstar was hit with more news, that Offset had cheated again.

It was a crazy year for Cardi. I hope Offset can get it together so they can be a family. We wish them a much better 2019.

#4 - Meghan Markle Becomes The 3rd Black Royal And First Black Dutchess Of The English Crown

It was truly thee wedding of the century! Meghan became the first African American Princess/Duchess in the royal family. Markle is actually the 3rd Black royal of England. England had two African Queens, Queen Philippa of Hainault, and second Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg. Charlotte is actually the great-grandmother of the current Queen Elizabeth.

#3 - MoNique Beef With Netflix And Everyone One Else

The Queen of Comedy/actress Mo’Nique, was mad as hell most of 2018. She was feeling some type of way about the 500k "lowball offer" Netflix pitch to her camp about doing a special on the network. Mo called for a boycott, and blasted the program giant for being disrespectful for refusing to pay what she was worth. That drama sparked a lot of negative comments from fans aimed at the star, which re-hatched her prior fallout with Tyler Perry, Oprah and others of whom she claimed never helped her. The bad pub also led to the famous diva being labeled "Donkey of the Day" by radio star Charlemagne.

I'm happy to say that drama is over! Before the end of the year, Mo was able to bounce back be landing a residency in Vegas. Tickets are on sale now for "Mo'Nique Does Vegas," and the first show jumps off January 11, 2019.

#2 - Death of Aretha Franklin

Who will ever forget the day we lost The Queen of Soul. Aretha Franklin’s passing rocked the music world to it's core. Her 8-hour ceremony and home-going was historic. The Queen went out, the way she came in...with song. Her memorial, public viewing and funeral were span over a week. It including four separate public viewing, the queens change of cloths in the middle, and performances by the greatest singers on the planet. All hale to the legendary Queen of Soul!
